Welcome to Walk With The WOC, a showcase of misogyny and racism, and how the two can overlap.
WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
Women of colour in today's world are decidedly different from everyone else. Us women (one white woman, one Fillipina, and two Pakistani women) will use this platform to share our own experiences of misogyny and racism, as well as stories from other women of all ethnicities.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
THE SITE CREATORS
The creators of this site consist of four girls, three WOC of Asian decent and one of European decent. All of us have experienced misogyny in our day-to-day lives, and each WOC has faced racism. The goal of this site is to learn about one another’s experiences with injustice, as well as the stories of interviewees.
SHARING THEIR STORIES
We are giving women, primarily women of colour, opportunities to speak out about the injustices they have faced in terms of misogyny and racism. Some of these women are friends and acquaintances of ours, others are celebrities and influencers, all sharing similar experiences.
EDUCATION AND AWARENESS
Not everyone is aware of many injustices that women of colour face. Misogyny and racism are rampant in today’s society, and the two often overlap. We wish to bring attention to the experiences of women who have faced gender and race-based injustice, and how others can slowly unlearn their own subconscious prejudices.
